Bio
We're doing this as a journal rather than a community because the only person who will ever need to make posts here will be the maintainer. That said, I'm hoping to do this in as organised a fashion as is OCDly possible. So, let me explain the organisation scheme I intend to implement.

First, there will almost always be exactly six posts in this journal.

1.A post whose entire content will be a current and accurate housing list under a cut-tag
2.A post for comments on the subject of finding a roommate
3.A post for comments offering housing in town
4.A post for interactions with the housing drone
5.A post for OOC stuff
6.The Office of Residential Affairs voicemail

Occasionally, there will be an extra post containing an announcement related to housing or the dorms in one way or another.

Second, procedures:

To Find A Roommate
1.Check comments attached to the post entitled Find A Roommate.
2.If there are no postings there or none of the postings look like they'd offer compatability, leave a comment on that post stating your need for a roommate and indicating any preferences you might have.
3.Check back regularly to see if anybody has responded or any newer and more interesting postings have appeared.
4.Assuming you get an acceptable response or find somebody acceptable to respond to, go to the Housing Drone to be assigned a room.
5.The Housing Drone will then update the dorm listings and mark your postings as 'housed'.
6.Once you've been 'housed', delete your original posting and any comments it spawned.

To Find Housing In Town
1.Check the comments attached to the post entitled Find Housing In Town.
2.If you find a posting that looks like it will meet your housing needs, contact the poster in whatever manner they requested.
3.If you cannot find a suitable posting, you can either continue to check the board on a regular basis until you do find one, or decide to deal directly with one of the apartment complexes in town.
4.Either way, once you've settled the details of your lease, notify the Housing Drone of your new address, so that she can add you to the list of students living off campus.

To Offer Housing In Town
1.Add a comment to the post entitled Find Housing In Town.
2.Wait for students and/or faculty members to respond to your posting.
3.Negotiate leases as appropriate.
4.Delete your posting and any comments it might have generated once you've filled all the space(s) you had available.

This journal is not associated with any real Offices of Residential Affairs at any non-fictional institutions of Secondary Education or Higher Learning. It does not offer any real dorm rooms in any real buildings to any real students. The only school it has any sort of affiliation with is [info]fandomhigh - a seriously cracktastic lj-rpg.
